Perfect Eyebrows
Day & Night

Notorious Permanent Cosmetics in Ocala, Fl.

Eyebrows add significant value and form to a persons individual beauty. Permanent Eyebrows can frame your face and add definition and lasting beauty to your youthful, contoured appearance. If done on a precise 8 week basis by seasoned permanent makeup artist such as I am, the proper placement of your tattooed eyebrows will open up your eyes and actually improve the appearance of the shape of your face. Very much like a mini facelift! With eyebrow microblading or the powder/shadow brow, you’ll wake up and go to sleep feeling beautiful, and you’ll get hours of your life back from the hassle of drawing and filling in your brow makeup. You’ll no longer worry about your eyebrows coming off in the pool or in a workout session, or anywhere! With new confidence and more time, my clients rave about how life-changing this procedure is!

What issues does eyebrow microblading or the powder brow solve?

5
3
Eyebrow issues are common and the causes vary from eyebrows being over-tweezed, under-tweezed, medical conditions, injury or the natural aging process. If you’ve lost your eyebrows or have patchy hair growth you know first-hand how it affects your overall appearance and self-confidence. You also know how much time you spend drawing your brows in every day, and the insecure feeling you might get when you sweat or go swimming, that your brows will disappear. Achieving natural-looking eyebrows using makeup pencils and eyebrow powders is a challenge, which is time consuming and has to be repeated several times a day….no one wants that.

What is microblading?

Not an ethical tattooing process. Not recommended.

What is an ombre powder brow (permanent)?

5

Also called nano brows, nano shading brows, microshading, microshading brows, and hair-strokes. Ombre Powder Brows are another style choice of permanent make-up, where through the process of inserting pigment into the dermis of the skin, I create the desired fullness and new design and balance of the eyebrows. A small tattoo machine is used to insert pigment. This technique differs from Microblading in that we create a misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup, as opposed to simulated hair-strokes. The tails of the brow are darker, and fade into a light start to the brow, giving that perfect ombre shadow effect! This is true lasting permanent makeup. Touch-ups recommend at 3 years. My personal favorite!

The effects will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely realistic. It lasts much longer than microblading, many years on average, depending on the clients skin type, lifestyle and various other factors. Over time, pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows behind very healthy and normal.

Lasting Lips

Notorious Permanent Cosmetics in Ocala, Fl.

Lips are considered the main focal point when speaking. They add significant expression and enunciation to the delivery of speech and character. A persons age, health, emotional status, and general attitude is judged by the appearance of the mouth. Permanent makeup tattoo lip coloring can be used to significantly enhance the shape and color of your mouth. Changing the appearance of the mouth by making it appear fuller, reducing inconsistencies in the lip contour and shape, improving the cupids bow, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the lip area. There is no other makeup ritual that has to be repeated as often throughout life as the reapplication of lipsticks, liners and glosses. Smears off eating, drinking, sweating, kissing your babies, or just by talking! Permanent lip blush frees you from the nuisance of reapplying lipstick ten times a day, and gives your lips a more defined youthful appearance and amazing shape.

Lip blush or lip liner is best for…

People with natural lip color so similar to their face color that they appear washed out without anything on at on all, as well as those with uneven or undefined lips! Busy professionals and parents, travelers, sports and outdoors-loving ladies rave about how lip tattooing frees up so much of their time and efforts. Lipstick and lip gloss connoisseurs, and natural gals alike swearing by natural looking lip blush and liners because they can still apply their lip cosmetics of choice, as their heart desires…..but never be bare all the time!

The procedure not only enhances the color, contour, and beauty of the mouth, but also gives you confidence by eliminating the fear of smearing or the unexpected lipstick on front teeth. Permanent lip color is wonderful for the lipstick connoisseur and natural gals alike because you can always enhance or change your permanent lip color with lipstick if desired, but still feel confident that you have you have the perfect color and shape without applying lip gloss every hour.

FAQ’s

Notorious Permanent Cosmetics in Ocala, Fl.

What is permanent makeup, and semi permanent makeup?

5
3

Permanent makeup is commonly referred to as a “cosmetic tattoo”, but it’s not a traditional tattoo at all, nor is it really 100% “permanent”. Tiny amounts of natural pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin for the traditional methods that last years. Semi permanent is implanted into the epidermis layers which sluff with daily life. Because of that, results differ from which tattooing option you choose. All permanent cosmetics fade over time. This is perfect since faces and trends change!

Who is the ideal candidate for permanent makeup?

5
3

Permanent makeup is perfect for busy women (and yes, men!) who are looking to save time and want their look to stay perfect around the clock. Its also a great solution for those with oily skin that shed makeup easily, athletes, swimmers and beach goers who want to sweat and get wet without their makeup running, and anyone wanting to boost their confidence! People who have alopecia, sparce brows, will love the NEW microblading brow service also.Especially if they are having apprehensions of committing to the other permanent powder brow option of the machine method.

People with eyes sensitive to makeup or sparse lashes love permanent eyeliner, and those who want fuller looking, more defined lips love lip tinting. Its really wonderful across the board for everyone wanting to look well groomed and put together without tons of extra wasted time and energy. Its made to enhance the beauty you already have!

How long will permanent makeup last?

5
3

Traditional permanent makeup is long-lasting and will slowly fade over the course of 2-5 years. As you become accustomed to your makeup, it’s not uncommon to want more. To keep your makeup looking fresh, we recommend having it retouched every 3 years. Darker colors, such as black eyeliner, will last the longest. Natural, delicate colors are more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and your skin’s natural emollients.

Microblading is much different and I recommend touchups every 6 months, “semi permanent”.

How long does the procedure take?

5
3

Time will vary with each individual and area being covered and whether it’s your first time or you’re coming in for a touch-up. It takes our experienced technicians an average of one hour for each procedure. The total time to expect at my studio for your first session (including consultation, color selection, and application) is about two hours.

After Care Information

5
3

Permanent Cosmetics are a wonderful investment in ourselves, you wont regret it, I promise. You’ve come to the right person!

First off -DON’T WORRY YOUR PIGMENT WILL LIGHTEN SIGNIFICANTLY! This is a process that will give the surface a much darker and fuller appearance at first; about 10-20% darker for brows and eyes, and about 30-50% for lips. Your body needs to regenerate new skin cells, oxygen, and nutrients that support healing. If you bled a lot during your procedure, this will also contribute to your PMU having a darker appearance because of excess blood on the surface tissue, plus bruising from behind the tattoo itself. Nope, not kidding!

During the first 4 days, your PMU will be at its darkest, and then will lighten each day after that as the area is mildly exfoliated. By the second week it will be considerably lighter, smaller and softer The top layer of skin will have been entirely shed and replaced with the new skin beneath – trust me and the healing process. Ive done this a few times. 😉

Redness, tenderness, swelling, itching, and pigment exfoliation are all completely normal reactions to the procedure. Shedding tiny flakes or specks of color is also an expected part of the healing process. By ensuring proper attention to your new tattoo, you can also ensure a beautifully healed result. Although, you need to understand, second applications are truly key for near perfection!

It is important in your after care to keep the wounded tissue clean, and lightly moisturized. Its is fine to shower and wash as you normally do, as long as you treat the PMU area gently, with care. Direct contact with water will not harm or affect your PMU as it heals. USE ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP FOR FIRST 3 DAYS ON TATTOOED AREA! Afterwards, once the first several days of healing has taken place, the pigment has settled in you will start to see the pleasant changes. No swimming or any traditional make up for 7 days on the treated areas. Infections are a risk!

Use common sense! AVOID using strong astringents and exfoliants. Any products containing the following: retinal acids, benzoyl peroxides, salicylic acids, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), lactic acids, or mandelic acid. Anything with a specifically exfoliating effect should not be applied to the PMU area during healing, as they can significantly alter the result and fade or even change the newly healing area.

Between 30 and 90 days post-procedure (the ideal window is at 6 weeks, or 45 days, after first application) it is recommended that you return for a follow-up appointment, for the detail, finishing session of your new tattoo. It is also recommended that you return for regular maintenance of your PMU every 3-5 years, on average. These maintenance appointments provide the needed needed corrections as the pigment naturally fades tones, lightens and your desired looks change with age and lifestyle. PMU can last 3/5 years for brows, lips, and eyes, sometimes even longer! Microblading fades much faster than the machine techniques, as it deposits a smaller amount of pigment in the skin, in a more shallow range. It is sluffed away faster as the skin regenerates itself and metabolizes from the inside. Microblading IS NOT set in the dermis layer of the tissue(where body tattoos are), but the epidermis (top layers). Yep, true fact!

How is my permanent makeup color(s) chosen?

5
3

As a master technician I will custom blend colors for you, from companies Ive worked with for sixteen years. Together we’ll work on getting to know your personality, assess you face shape and coloring, and make design suggestions as to color, thickness, and shape. The final decision is always yours, and you’ll see your color before it’s permanently applied. Our clients love having a makeup artist’s opinion. In some cases my clients have stepped out of their comfort zone based on a recommendation, and they’re so glad they did!

What’s the recovery time?

5
3

There’s no downtime; you can go back to work the next day after your eyebrow, eyeliner or lip procedure. It’s normal to have some swelling on the lip and eye, and/or some minor scabbing on eyebrows. Your custom color will initially look 20% bolder than what the final result will be after about a week when it settles in. It will take about seven days for the top skin to completely heal. Clients generally say they walk out ready to take on the rest of their day with little discomfort. Icing for the first 24 hours is key! Although I will not apply your next session for 6-8 weeks.

Guide To Healing

5
3

This information has been provided to guide you through the first month after your treatment and provide you with an idea of what to expect as you heal. Please do not hesitate to contact Meredith at any time with any questions or concerns. Please remember brow shock can be common in the first 4-5 days, and every single case is different, every person will heal at different rates and ranges. Smokers and diabetics can expect slower healing rates to be sure. All PMU areas should be kept out of direct sunlight post-procedure for 30 days. Please do apply sunblock to the area for maintenance protection. This helps to ensure the longevity of your PMU and color tones. Eyeliner is best protected with SPF makeup/moisturizers and sunglasses.

Area Specific Aftercare Instructions

5
3
BROW CARE

For the next 7 days apply a very thin layer of ointment 2-3x daily. With a new qtip each time! AFTER WASHING WITH ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP. This keeps the area protected with a breathable moisture barrier and supports clean healing. Ice packs are always recommended for all PMU for the first 12 to 24 hours. 20 minutes on , then 20 minutes off with a paper towel in between,to the treated areas to reduce swelling during the first crucial hours of healing.

EYES

DO NOT: use contacts, eye makeup, or mascara for 7 days post procedure and any lash-enhancing products for 30 days post procedure. Used makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria, so make sure you purchase new mascara and eyeliner once you are ready to use it again. You should avoid swimming in pools for 7 (or more) days after your treatment, as bacteria and chemicals in the water may be irritating, just a plain bad idea. Do not swim in the ocean for 30 days post procedure as the salt water will pull pigment out. Please just use common sense. Ice packs are always recommended for all PMU for the first 12 to 24 hours. 20 minutes on , then 20 minutes off to the treated areas to reduce swelling during the first crucial hours of healing. If you arent sure give me a call or text!

LIP & AREOLA CARE

For the first 7 days use ointment 3x daily, or as needed, to soothe the area. You can clean with antibacterial soap here if you feel needed, but not necessary. Allowing the wound to close naturally in a clean environment. Ice packs are always recommended for all PMU for the first 12 to 24 hours. 20 minutes on , then 20 minutes off to the treated areas to reduce swelling during the first crucial hours of healing.

The Healing Process: What To Expect

5
3
EYEBROWS

Day 1-4: You can expect the area to be bold in color, with a dramatic appearance, clear yellowish discharge (blood plasma) is undesirable and must be washed away with antibacterial soap. Your new brows are trying to make a scab. SCABS ARE BAD! Your PMU may look uneven due to inflammation/swelling. Do not worry; this is normal. Trust the healing process, it will lighten and shrink.

Day 4-7: The area will start to itch and flake. The procedure area will appear to be thicker in texture and possibly look uneven because of the inflammation/swelling, yes still. The wound has sealed, flaky skin will start to lift, this is normal; do not pick at it. Just use your ointment to minimize the look, very very sparingly please. Very soon in the next few days, you will see the beautiful results you imagined (and paid for). A much softer creamy natural brow.

Day 30-45: Pigment looks brighter and clearer. The tissue is healthy and healing is complete. Time for your second application for detail work!

EYELINER

Day 1-3: Swelling, tightness, and tenderness when you blink. It will look like you have been crying a lot. The PMU will look dramatic, it is a tattoo, this should be expected. Remember always use a new qtip when applying ointment, DO NOT DOUBLE DIP LADIES! Do not contaminate your ointments with used qtips or dirty fingers!

Day 4-5: Exfoliation of the surface pigment; the skin beneath will begin to flake off. Do not pick at it. Blinking and movement of the eyes will feel less tender and applying ointment will usually remove all excess pigment.

Day 6-7: Eyeliner appears softer and shrinks in size to reveal a thinner appearance . The skin has sealed and is have gone through exfoliating phases. The eyeliner of your dreams is becoming a reality!

Day 30-45: Full healing has taken place and the color has matured. Quality facial moisturizers are recommended. Time to call for your second session for your detail work!

Day 30-45: NOTE: If your eyes are red and emitting any white or yellow discharge, or very itchy, you may have a minor eye infection. In this case, rinse your eyes to remove the ointment and visit your doctor to request antibiotic eye drops. Eye infections are rare but can happen easily, apply a very tiny amount of aftercare ointment (size of grain of rice)******** WITH A NEW QTIP EACH TIME.

LIPS

Day 1-3: Swelling, tenderness, very dark and thick lipstick appearance. This is all surface oxidation, as the lips have swollen and there is blood in the tissue related to minor bruising from the procedure. You will also experience some mild bleeding and oozing with colored discharge, as a result of the pigment surface saturation and tattooed dead layers of tissue. Lips are the hardest heal and can be very uncomfortable. Just be patient. The color you see on day one and day 15 will be completely different.

Day 45-60: The healing is complete. The color you see now is the new color you will have. Your lips will remain dry and bit uncomfortable for 1-3 months. I recommend up to 3 sessions for lips depending on your desired result.
